We are pleased to announce a special event happening in Portland tonight:
Horse Brass Pub is hosting a special beer release party for Norman Ale! Esquire magazine called Horse Brass Pub “One of the best bars in America,” and we definitely agree! We are so excited to celebrate the beer’s release with its own special evening. Things are getting started at 6pm tonight, Wednesday, December 4th. The address is 4534 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215. The bar will be spinning our new record on vinyl during the event. How cool is this?! Bring everyone you know to the Horse Brass tonight and we’ll toast the absolute Eventyr this record and beer have been. See you there!
As an added bonus, the Oregonian has listed Norman Ale as one of their 20 picks for holiday gifts under $25! http://www.oregonlive.com/living/index.ssf/2013/12/20_local_gifts_under_25.html
We are pleased to announce the release of our third full-length album, Into the Eventyr, on Hey Amigo Records! The journey of creating this record has finally brought us to the international physical release of our much-anticipated record, featuring 10 tracks of music on vinyl, CD, and digital downloads.
Here’s what people are saying about the new record:
“Into the Eventyr” is full of hearty, harmony-filled rock in the spirit of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Matthew Sweet, but the edgy “Hawk,” the band’s synth-lined new single, may be the beer’s best match.” — The Oregonian
“On some songs they have really nice vocal harmonies going on, in others its more guitar-accented. (The final song, Leaving the Valley, does have an badass Allman’s guitar thing going on.) But the music is smooth, layered, and flows like water.” — Beervana
“A lazy, golden, heartbreaking tune for you today.” — Song for The Day
“Give a listen to this relaxing twangy tune. It’ll make you forget you live in the big city.” — KZME

The band Norman approached Calapooia Brewing to create a beer that tasted like their music. The result is a perfectly balanced Pale Ale. Look for the beer all over Oregon and scan the QR code on the bottle to receive a free download of the entire album.
It’s been a while, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes working on the release of our third studio full length. Artwork is 90% done, and we’re gearing up for a release here soon. Everything is looking and sounding great. The music is melting away at me as I prepare for an official announcement of the release date and album title.
Also, some new shows have been added to the calendar, and there will be more to come. I speak for all of the Norman crew by saying how much we’ve missed playing out.
One show I’m really excited about is with the one and only John Vanderslice, and it’s in Salem of all places. John has been a long time inspiration and it just so happens that he’s a total sweetheart too. It will be nothing short of an honor to join him for a set. Check here for tickets and see what he’s all about if you haven’t heard JV: http://www.undertowtickets.com/product/john-vanderslice-living-room-show-salem-or-june-12-8pm
Looking forward to sharing more, but want to just let you know the sleeping giant known as Norman is about to wake back up.
