We got a bit lazy over the holiday season but we’re feeling better now and wish to inform you of the happenings.

Our new (third) album is getting very close to done and releasable. Working on artwork, title, packaging and how many pink fruufy janglers will be included in each purchase.

Planning to be out again for another jaunt around the country. This time it’s looking to include Idaho, Colorado and Texas (SXSW should give you an idea of the timing).

We will be down at SXSW. Shows are being planned but we plan to be down there in support of Portland with some other NW bands. A benefit for the “Portland Showcase” is planned. Info here for facebookers.

Good news! After taking a relaxing September break Norman is going to be playing a residency at McMenamain’s White Eagle Saloon in North Portland. That means we’re playing every Monday night in October with a whole collection of other great bands and musicians. See you there!

Summer concerts

Hey Everyone. We’re about ready to take on some serious projects. We’re playing some concerts in Oregon, getting ready to start the recording on our 3rd studio album, and planning a tour for the late summer.

That being said, we’re keeping busy and writing new songs. In the next week you can catch us in Portland, Corvallis, or Troutdale. Check the shows page for more details on when we’re playing near you!

Speaking of friends, I had the opportunity to play in San Diego in February with my dear friends from the band “The Tree Ring”. The songs turned out sounding very different from what they sound like. My friend, Jon made a recording of the life set. I’m offering up 2 of the songs from that set for download: Reaching Jefferson & Hay, Hay, Make a Wish & Turn Away. April Laurelthirst Residency

Marcy Playground, San Diego trip, and February concerts

This is one of the busy weeks. Tomorrow night’s concert with Marcy Playground, The Parson Redheads, and Mark Twain Indians should be epic to say the least.

On Thursday I’m flying out to San Diego to stay with my dear Friend Joel West, and watch his band “The Tree Ring’ play The Casbah. While I’m there, I’ll be playing a concert put on by Sezio.org at Habitat House. Check it out.

Writing for album 3. I feel like we’re getting somewhere, refining the songs.

I was checking my email this morning and it just so happened that I had a wonderful email arrive into my box from my friend Matthew. Follow his photography website: BENT MOVEMENT, where you can find creations from his travels and life, including some photos he took at our recent Portland, OR concert at Mississippi Studios. Thanks Matthew and Kristina.

Listening to the new Sufjan record….so much echo, and underwater sounds galore.
